Student Led Conferences - Wednesday 28th June 3.15pm -7.45pm
Part of the success of Student Led Conferences depends on the kinds of questions you as the parent/caregiver ask. Here is a sample of prompts that you might like to use on the night of the conference, which will help your child to be reflective and give you more information about where they are at in their learning.
The following prompts will also be available in classes on the night of the conference that you can use:
What have you been learning about in …
What were the steps you went through to learn this / make this?
What helped you to learn this? (Was it the teacher / having good information / knowing what it looked like / working with a group / knowing what to do? etc)
What are you most pleased with?
What was the trickiest part?
What would you do differently if you were going to do this again?
What do you think you need to work on next in this learning?
What could we do together to help you with your learning in this area?
Booking information will be out this week along with an invitation to a presentation that will explain what you will see in the Hero progress report this Term.

PRIMARY TEACHERS STRIKE FOR THIS WEDNESDAY
HAS BEEN CALLED OFF
Because of progress in discussions between the Minister of Education, Ministry and NZEI Te Riu Roa, the planned full day primary teachers' strike on 31st May 2023 will not proceed.
Instead of these strike actions, NZEI Te Riu Roa members covered by the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement (PTCA) have been offered the opportunity to hold special paid union meetings in schools on Wednesday 31 May 2023 from 1pm- 3pm to reduce the disruption to school communities that would have resulted from a full day strike.
To recap: School will remain open this Wednesday
