We are really looking forward to celebrating our learning with you at our TECHNOLOGY EXPO. It is a great way to explore the creative and exciting learning that has been occurring across the school in the name of technology. Our big focus has been MAKE A DIFFERENCE and you will see lots of ways that different classes have tackled this big idea.
We look forward to welcoming you through the junior classrooms and Motuora, where students will be sharing their learning, as well as visiting the hall where the Year 3 to 6 classes will be set up ( with some items for sale).
The community committee are going to be supporting this event by selling drinks and snacks between 3 and 5pm. We are also going to have performances by the ‘Glee Club’ and Kapa Haka group. There will be a chance to have a go with some of the digital technology resources that we have recently purchased and participate in some parent challenges.
Red Beach School has been a hive of fun Maths learning this week. We had Estimate of the Day challenges including Ms Hepburn shooting hoops and Mrs Healey filling a cubic metre. There were Maths Trails and Mathex competitions which were lots of fun too. We finished the week with a furiously fast remote controlled car race.
Attached are some ideas that you can try at home to keep the Maths spark alive ! There is a link to a video about how you can help your child. There are also links for some simple Maths games that you can play. Remember that Maths is all around us.
Today a letter will come home with information about what this means for you and your child/children next week. Please, can you fill in the bottom of the letter and return it to the class teacher by Thursday this week.
If an information sheet does not find its way to you there will be spares in the main office.
