We are well into our planning for 2025 with Class placement consideration forms having been shared with you last week . Please note we are unable to accept any late forms - the cut off date is 9am Monday 11th November.

As you may be aware the New Zealand Curriculum has been refreshed and the new core learning areas will be implemented from 2025. 

One of the biggest changes is the move away from Curriculum Levels covering approximately 2 years of learning (i.e Level 1 mapped to most learners in Year 0/1 and 2, Level 2 to Year 3 and 4 etc) to the new Curriculum Phases of learning.
Phase 1 covers learning that most students should have achieved by the end of Year 3 and Phase 2 by the end of Year 6 (with Phase 3 being achieved by the end of Year 8). 

In light of the impact that this will have on teaching and learning, particularly in the middle school at Years 3 and 4, many schools are restructuring how their classes are organised.
At Red Beach School we will be organising classes in the following year group teams:

Year 0/1
Year 2/3
Year 4/5
Year 6

This change has been made with much considered thought and we are aware that it will affect some school events such as the Y3/4 sleepover etc. Teams will be working hard in 2025 to ensure that all of our students continue to have engaging and authentic curricular and extra-curricular learning and experiences. Teams will communicate more with you next year. 

Plants for sale - later this month you will have the opportunity to purchase plants grown in our tunnel house. There will be a range of plants on sale including: tomatoes, corn, beans and ornamental plants. Watch this space!
