Dear parents and caregivers
With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II much has been written about her work ethic over those 70 years of service. Her incredible service will be her legacy. We will be having a short gathering to recognise this. More details to follow.
Welcome to Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - Māori language week. The focus continues to be on taking a risk and giving it a go and the evidence of how far we have come is most evident. This year marks 50 years since the petition was presented to parliament calling for the recognition of Te Reo as an official language and asking for it to be taught in schools. Teachers have and continue to work incredibly hard to upskill themselves. Have a chat to your child - ask them to teach you some words that you know and see how you can integrate them into your everyday language.
We are really looking forward to welcoming you along next week to our Extravaganza details of which have been shared with you via your child’s class teacher.
Thank you to the candidates who put themselves forward to serve on the board, and thank you to all who took the time to vote.
Warmest congratulations to our new Board: Jon Walton, Conan O’Reilly, Andrew Waller, Lia Shelfood-Toopi and Neicia Persson.
